![]() The HAL Communications Corp HAL DS2000 KSR smart terminal. Click on image for larger view.
![]() The manual refers to this BMC monitor, so I assume it was purchased along with the KSR unit. Click on image for larger view.
![]() Here is a nice big pic of the boards and wiring view, with the case open. Click on image for larger view.
More pics What's next? Attach it to a computer expecting a current loop as if the HAL were a Teletype. There is also Morse code and Baudout communications. Reply |

![]() These are the ROM chips for the DS-2000. The 2708 ePROM is assigned to the memory space from 0000 to 03FF and the mm5132 covers 0400 to 1fff. Click image for larger view.
I used a Tantek Z80 in-circuit emulator to read the ROMs. http://www.tauntek.com Here is a dump of the two ROMS: DUMP Disassembly (let me know if the listing is usable, I did not test) If you're working on one of these units and you need to replace the mm5132 you'd need three more 2708s, for a total of 4 2708s. I have seen this done on other units, assuming a jumper or two needed in the back. There is space on the board for additional 2708 ROMs. I'd have to read the manual to see what the procedure is.
