Initialization PX-8 Resetting sub-CPU (2.1.3) - power switch off - push the red "INITIAL RESET" button near the ROMs (resets sub-CPU) -> "initializing" appears on the screen when: - after battery change - system corruption - installing (and removing) expansion unit, like RAM disk unit Initialization Reset - press SHIFT-NUM GRAPH keys while pressing the Reset key at the left side of the PX-8 this procedure is (almost?) identical to the sub-CPU reset Simple reset - pressing the Reset key at the left side of the PX-8 An overview of the reset actions is printed on page 2-47 of the user manual On a system lock-up occurs try 1. press STOP 2. press CTRL-STOP 3. press Reset (left of PX-8) 4. press Reset while holding down SHIFT-NUM GRAPH (or press sub-CPU reset) The CONFIG.COM program on the utility ROM allows setting of: - auto power off - CP/M function keys - cursor and function key display - date & time - disk drives - printer - RAM disk resize - RS232C port settings - screen mode - serial port setting - user BIOS - country settings (character set) The Key combination CTRL-HELP enters the System Display module. It shows: - RAM Disk size - user BIOS size - menu disks - auto start mode - clock mode (alarm/wake/off) - micro cassette tape drive control mode - password setting/resetting
